Halifax total mortgage protection cover

Am I correct in thinking that if I make a successful claim for morgage repayments cover with Halifax, that they can use this to repay my bank account debt with them?

If you are in arrears/defaulted then they can use the redress against your debt. If not, they cannot.

Halifax appear to be still auto paying out on the PPI element of the TMPP but investigating (and in most cases rejecting) the life assurance and CI elements.

I assume that the same applies if I succesfully claim my mortgage exit fee as well ?

Also, I wonder do you know if a refund from a joint mortgage policy with my partner could be used to offset a debt in my sole name?

Halifax refund the difference between what you paid and what your contract says directly to you.

They cannot offset the money against other debts. Even if its with the same bank. They typically pay 50% to you and 50% to the other party where there were joint debts.
