Credit Reporting

Hello all, not sure if this is the right place to post this. But i need some advice and dont really know where the best place to post would be.
But my situation is, somebody has run a credit check on me without my permission or even knowing. Is this legal?
It now appears on my credit report and I'm guessing this could affect my credit score when looking for credit in the future, am I right in this being the case?

Any help/adivse would be greatly appreciated, or know of a better thread in the forum where this may be more relevant.

DVS is absolutely right - it makes for confusing reading otherwise. ...but welcome as a newbie strangemark

running a search to track old debtors is perfectly legal. However, if someone has run a credit application then that is another story.
Best thing to do is get clarity from the CRA as to wether it was a search/query or a credit application.
Then move forward when you have all the information.

Make your best guess, leave it half a day and if you are not getting the answer or useful discussion, try another forum on the site - but go back and edit your first post to say you are trying elsewhere and mention it in your new post.
