relation applying for loan in their mothers name ??

A member of my family is suddenly showing a lot of interest in her mothers house ie is it a bungalow or chalet whats it worth have any sold in the road recently is there a mortgage is there any loans and what name is it in
Now the person in question is not that well off ,in rented flat and two children allways moans about money (although always has what they want )

question is there any way to check if any loan applications or card applications have been made using her mothers name or address ??????

    the mother could obtain her credit files and that will show if any credit searches have been done on her name.

    All new accounts - even on-line ones - always are followed up by a confirmation letter in the post. So if your relative used your mother's address, it would arrive on her door-mat.

    Nothing to do with you though so there isn't much you can do.

    If the relationship between you and the mother is suitable, you could fire a few warning shots across her bow. A quick heads up her guard should be up against people taking her for a ride.

    Or waitin until everyone is together and raise the subject, a bit or public humiliation might work along with risking your own firendship with all of them.

    Sounds more like the early warnings of a potential secured loan, equity release or guarantor loan being scoped.
