Quick snowballing question

Ok, so I want to pay off one card quicker than others and I've decided to do it in size of debt (possibly not the most cost effective way, but I think getting rid of the smaller ones sooner will keep me motivated). All of my credits cards are set up on Direct debit to pay the minimum payment, do I keep the card I am throwing all my spare cash at set up as a direct debit, or shall I cancel this and make the payment each month when I know how much I have throw at it? Probably a silly question, but I don't want to get myself confused before I start.

  • I've always left the minimum repayment DD's in place as a "just in case" measure & then paid any extra separately.

Thank you! I've got so much going on in my head at the moment I can't think straight any more and I didn't want to do anything silly :D

    Totally agree woth SBC,

Its much safer to leave the DD in place and then at the end of the month you know exactly where you are.

  • Definitely, however illegal the overlimit and missed payment charges are, they're a much bigger pain in the tuckus than making a slightly bigger payment than you wanted to.
