What a morning!!

Hi all

Well today I had my HSBC card witheld by the tube ticket office. I guess they have now shut me down as they are one of my creditors in my DMP. The reason that I used the card this morning was because my last salary payment went in and that is where my money is so I now have no money, hmmm.

I have opened an A&L a/c and that has money in so thought that everything was rosy as I could pay on that. Oh no, that too was declined. Phoned A&L to hear that I haven't activated my card yet. Well I have so that miffed me somewhat. Could they transfer me to the correct dept, could they my a***e they started to tell me the phone number.

So there I was in the middle of rush hour tube station trying to remember the number that they are reciting to me, wondering how I am going to get to work. So I took a deep breath and went home, collected £2 in change and bought a single ticket.

But, I'm here and only 30 mins late so just blamed maintenance works.

How is everyone elses day so far?

Oh Franny how awful! You seem to be handling it really well - I'd have fallen to pieces and ended up in floods of tears in the middle of the tube station! So well done you.

Keep your chin up. It can only get better! :grouphug:

    Hi

Make sure you call HSBC and ask for your wages they aren't allowed to keep them all.

    Hi Fran,

Had exactly the same problem although 5 months ago roughly when all my debts come to a head and the bank cancelled my cards and swallowed my salary.
It took me 6 weeks to sort out as I left with exactly £1.19 for the month. thank heavens for families ;)

Nothing id more embarrassing at the time when people are behind you in that queue but I think we all have been there at one time or another.
Keep smiling. and think positively. your on the right road with the DMP and this is just a pothole on lifes motorway lol :rotfl:

If the amount is owed to them then they do have the legal right to keep the money to coverthe debt. I found this out the hard way. I doubt any phone call will help at all.

I always had a good relationship with my bank or so I thought but how quickly that goes out the window when it comes to recaliming there cash.

What they're not allowed to keep is any benefit payments, so if there's anything of those in there write to them and demand access to it.

I realise that benefit payments can be reclaimed but Fran said Salary so I assumed that she mneat actual salary from her employer.

If thats the case then I doubt they will do anything. and if they do the Halifax owes me £1200...

Hey all, thanks for the positive replies, I been in meetings all day so only just got back.

How ironic I thought as I sat in my meeting today discussing the best way to chase our fees off a non paying debtor. I stifled a chuckle as they mentioned CCJ's and the like.

Anyway, yes it was my salary that went in. Surely I can ask for the money up to my overdraft limit if I tell them that they are on my DMP and that the overdraft will be getting paid off. I am literally left with nothing until the end of the month.

Looks like I am walking home tonight then!!

My bank closed my account quite a while ago and they allowed me my whole months wages, so it is possible. They said they are not allowed to take it all.
