    OP, I can't see why you wouldn't go for this deal (after negotiation, of course). You could save a bundle.

    Remortgaging for just £16,500 over 3 years - which after renegotiation might be less than £15,000 - could be difficult.

    True but that's about practicalities. The OP doesn't even want to try, which I can't understand.

    Because we are not all financially astute , basically I do not have a clue where to start or who to approach , as my ex wife dealt with all that many years ago. In fact the whole thing scares the living daylights out of me.

    I do not have savings to contact a solicitor/accountant or any other profession that will charge me an arm and a leg.

    Looks like I have no choice but to leave things as it is.

    Santander's mortgage book is too big to faff about with individual mortgage holders. If sold on. Will be bundled up in billion pound packages.
