Roy do yu really want to be wasting money on £20k worth of cover?
Given your recent health history and ages, it will be expensive. Maybe just stick it in a high interst savings account each month.

    Conrad,

Well this was my original/default position, ie a small loan that one of us could probably keep up on their own if something bad happened. I will probably ask the question when I go down the loan route, in fact they'll probably ask me, but I'm not expecting their response to the word cancer to be positive or affordable.

I may mention the subject to my dermatologist (who I see more of than my family, these days) and ask where the land lies, as I guess she gets to write a lot of reports for insurance purposes so probably knows what they'll accept or not.

    Roy.
