why oh why do people stick rigidly to driving in the outside lanes when they should be driving in the Greenways bus-lanes outside the restricted hours ie A8 from the Maybury to Haymarket past the Zoo you can use Bus lanes from 0930 to 1630 the signs are big enough please dont threaten me ,try to cut me up ,nearly cause an accident cutting me up at lights, turning across me to turn left waving their fist at me,why ? because I`m in a Bus-lane:) a wee tip if there are loading bays in Greenways you can drive in them outside restricted hours.:D
please do not pick on me for my grammar,I left school at fifteen and worked in the building trade for 55years ,

Drive regularly on the east side of edinburgh, and no one else seems to drive in the "bus lane" from 930 - 1600, other than me. Please look at the signs!:

Dont encourage them, I like the empty bus lanes during the day for both cycling and driving.

My sentiment too. I have quiet giggle when I overtake (or should it be undertake??) them in the inside lane because they're doing 28 miles an hour with a queue of other sheep behind them! lol

Just make sure you don't go into the bus lane a touch too early as I must have done and received a fine, £60 or £30 if you pay within 14 days :(

On the other hand I am amazed at the amount of people who continue to enter them on the way home from work, it's not like they haven't been talked about in the news, lots of people in for a surprise bill or two soon!

I just wish they were more like London etc and allowed motorbikes into them, although some do anyway as they are front facing cameras!

Don't think they all are, pretty certain the east bound traffic on Willowbrae Road (at the Merc garage) gets clocked via the rear number plate.

Yes that one does record the rear plate, I only said "some" are front facing!

exactly, people driving very slowly with the sheep all terrified to go in bus-lanes when I looked in my rear view mirror there was no traffic for nearly 200 metres:rotfl:

I come from a place where there are no bus lanes. If I was driving in Edinburgh, I suspect I would do as the majority do simply because of uncertainty and I would figure they must know what they are doing.

Don't be too smug, it usually comes back to bite you on the @ss. :D

Well you see the problem with the Edinburgh bus lanes / greenways is people don't understand them, and that looks like a ploy to me. They don't all stick to the same times, people are also getting hit with fines pre 07:30. All this leads to people just staying out of them as it is less hassle.

The up shot is you have a queue of traffic in one lane and an empty lane, they should try doing away with them, see what impact that has, I suspect less queues as the traffic can use two lanes.
