Comets 'vanishing' Dyson discount promotion.

Hi Everyone,
This is my first post in this wonderful forum/site. Generally I just take todays poor customer service and move on but I have been so infuriated by Comet I have been driven to post here.
On Monday 14th May after watching a TV advert about Dyson vacuums I was compelled to look at Dyson vacuums online (damn advertisers lol) as mine has recently developed a fault, I have had it for about 16 years!) So i was thinking of getting a new one. I entered 'Dyson' as the search criteria on Google. On either the 2nd or 3rd weblink result was a link to Comets site which was describing a trade-in discount so off I went to Comets site. Upon arriving at the first page on their site there was a large yellow and black promotional header at the top of the page stating that there was 'up to' 30% off 'ALL' Dyson vacuums. You had to enter the promo code 'DYSONTRADE' at the checkout/basket stage of the purchase. So I chose the vacuum cleaner I wanted and entered the code. At this point the site advised me that the code was invalid and to please try again, which I did, same result. So I went back to the promo banner page to check I had read it correctly and I had. I then tried again but with the same result. So I contacted Comets customer service asking for some help. I received a reply asking me what vacuum cleaner it was I was trying to apply the promo code to. I gave the information along with the question why should it matter really as the banner quite clearly said 'ALL' Dyson vacuum cleaners. I thought nothing more of it. I then got an email from another representative stating that there was no such promotion at Comet. At this point I carried out the same search criteria I had originally only to find that not only had the promotional banner disappeared from their site but Comet do not appear on the first page of a Google search when you use 'Dyson' as the search word. I would normally just move on at this point as there are far more important things to worry me in life. However, the emails I have got from Comet are making out that I could not have seen such a promo as there is not one and has not been one since mid April they are saying. Now I know this to be inaccurate according to their website and the fact that they have changed the webpage and somehow how they appear on a Google search is testament to that.
I was wondering if anyone else had noticed this or knows what I should do next? If they had just put their hands up and said, look it was an error and we are sorry I would have accepted that, mistakes do happen but the fact they are making me out a liar is making me very angry. :mad:
Any advice from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for that but your info further deepens this Comet mystery. Their CS is saying that they have checked back and from mid April until now there has been no DYSONTRADE promo code active on their site. This further proves that I am right. What, if anything, can I do about this? I feel as though I am being made out to be a liar. A simple apology would have sufficed but no, they had to make me out to be crazy lol
