I'm not paying my cards this month and will hopefully have enough to go bankrupt before my birthday next month(assuming I can get an appointment that is). It's stilla scary thought but I have come to terms with it now, especially as one of my credit cards is charging me £10 more interest this month despite me paying £196 off last month, the interest of which was £79, so £120 came off the balance-how can they charge me £10 MORE interest?? I just can't carry on scrimping and struggling when it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference!!

Tmd,
The forums are going off line soon so no time for a lenghty post. You're doing the right thing, we've all had the nagging doubts that you've got at the moment, read the history of any of our posts, but it will come right for you, the sun will shine again and you'll wonder why you ever hesitated.
Good luck, we're with you,

Hi
Have you booked your appointment? You can do this in advance so worth trying. I did in just before xmas and it was the best gift I could've given myself ever. Good luck!Fight for clean hospitals, C-DIFF takes lives

No I've been in hospital all week (had an operation) so will ring up Monday morning and see what the procedure is.I haven't even looked at the forms I need to fill in but thankfully I am really organised and have all my credit card etc statements in folders in date order for the last 3 years

Good on you for making such a brave decision. Just make sure that you have had the 'professional' advice thats needed.
Try and get all thoughts of any figures out of your head now. DONT pay any credit what so ever, and if you have arrears on Council tax, utilities, mobiles, BT, SKY etc etc DONT pay them if you want the balance to be included in your Bankruptcy.
You will need all your spare cash for YOU from now on. This is where your new life starts. Make sure you have your banking details and all that sorted out. Make sure you have a nice tea and bottle of wine planned for the night of B day as its a stressfull day, but worth it if thats whats right.

Yep CCCS and payplan both said bankruptcy unless I wanted to be in a DMP for 16 years!! Luckily I'm not in arrears with anything at all yet, not even my credit cards until the end of this month.I'm looking forward to being able to get a nice loaf of bread instead of a 28p value loaf which goes mouldy in 2 days!!I've just been in hospital and had an operation so no alcohol for me for a while, but I'll treat myself to some chocs instead!Debts Jan 2014 £20,108.34
