Hi
I am looking at moving and therefore need to increase my mortgage. I have been to see a financial advisor linked with the estate agents. Through a lengthy meetin he showed me some 'products' from Nationwide and Halifax and the interest rates were good and the arrangement fee fair.
He told me he would phone around and let me know in 48 hours. When he phoned back he told me no one would give me a mortgage except 1 mortgage company...Skiptons, and rather than 5.18% it is now 5.69%.
My mortgage is slightly different as my wife and i need my father-in-law as a named person on the mortgage to allow us to get the amount we need.
Do i believe the financial advisor, or does he get a bigger slice of comission from the company he is trying to push me with??

if he's looking for a guarantor mortgage the Nationwide & Halifax won't be interested - Skipton are strong in this area as few lenders will do them now. If the 3 parties are actually to be named on the mortgage and title deeds Halifax should look at it.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.This signature is here as I follow MSE's Mortgage Adviser code of conduct.
