we have been saving the tesco vouchers so we could go, thinking it might save some money going over their birthday but oh no they want a party aswell, as its their first year at school, so we are going to hire a village hall and do a party on the cheap for them

Don't forget to shop around for discounts if you know when you are going rather than paying on the gate - for example I found this at Lastminute (not saying it's the cheapest!):
