Safe bank help...

I have today returned my DMP confirmation for the CCCS to start proceedings.

I have a new bank account setup with HSbC. My current bank is Barclays. This does have a number of direct debits setup. Do I now just instruct my employer to use my HSBC account and let CCCs deal with the rest?

Cheers

  • Hello,

just set up all your direct debits at HSBC - also cancel the direct debits from Barclays. Inform your employer to put wages in new account and then let CCCS deal with the rest.

    Good luck

I am a total Noob at this (have had my direct debits for like 10 years :)) but would I need to get my new bank HSBC to contact Barclays and just get them to transfer and then just have all my money going into my HSBC account?

I say this, as most of my debt are creditcards, which I have setup for direct debit and my overdraft with Barclays which is nearly £1.6K

In theory, the only DD I really want to still be paying are:

-Mobile contract (Stuck with for another few months)
-SKY TV (Also stuck with for a bit)
    -Car insurance
    -Pet insurance

And all the others are basicly Creditcards, Catalogues and my Barclays bank loan.

    Cheers..

PS Tried calling CCCS, but couldnt get through, so left a message for a call back.

I wouldn't use the transfer facility the banks often offer to move all DDs across automatically. I would instead just manually set up the DDs you still want to be paying with the new bank account and then cancel the DDs on the old account.

Then as you say get your employer to pay into new accounts from now on.

    But worth checking with CCCS.
