Leflet distribution - how much to charge??

I have been offered a job - to deliver 3000 leaflets -

How much is the going rate for leaflet distributution? It wouldn't be an hourly rate, it would be for the entire 3000 leaflets..

He is dropping by tomorrow, and has asked me to tell him a price!

I have NO IDEA..

Can anyone advise?

Thank you :)

2 - 3p per leaflet so anywhere between 60 - 100 pound would be reasonable, just depends on how much you think you can squeeze him for! :)

Also account into the areas you will be asked to deliver to - will it be streets of terraces, in which case very quick to move from one letterbox to the next, or will it be mostly huge detached houses with massive long drive/pathways?

Assuming 3p a leaflet then you need to deliver around 200 an hour to make the minimum wage, or more than 3 per minute. As advised above, if they are big houses with long drives and vicious dogs, I doubt you can do that. But if terraced houses it's very possible.

Let us know how you get on as I may be delivering leaflets myself soon, to medium sized semis.

  • Don't know what is normal, but last year I got paid £120 to deliver 1500 A5 size free local magazines. As they were magazines I couldn't carry a huge number at a time and kept going back to my car to get another bag full which meant it took longer than doing the equivalent number of leaflets.

Yes, plan to deliver a certain number of leaflets. In fact, time yourself, so you can speed up if need be. Aim for an average. I delivered leaflets briefly but I did he maths first and figured out I could deliver 100 leaflets every 24 minutes to hit my target. his way I could do around 250 an hour.

I got paid £30 per thousand. Terraced houses were my main type of property as well

When I did it, (years now) me and my friend got £100 between us for 3000 leaflets so £50 each for 1500 leaflets.

We paid someone £30 to deliver 1000 leaflets last year, that was with other leaflets it would have been more if we just wanted ours to go through on their own.
