Sainsburys price match problems?

Anyone else had problems?

Grants Whisky £16.00 Asda £21.29 Sainsbury - difference £5.29
Diet Coke 2 for £2 Asda 2 for £3.50 Sainsbury - difference £1.50

Total £6.79

Voucher came out for £4.85

Went to customer services and complained - ah but its on the whole basket sir..! me: I know that - that is my whole basket

where did you get your prices Sir? - me: mysupermarket.co.uk

Ah! thats your problem Sir we use Asda's own website ....let me check ..... ermmm you appear to be right Sir.... that shouldn't happen.

Difference put onto a giftcard but this is the fourth time its happened .... Surely they are relying on the 'whole basket' thing and people not being able to work it out .....

To add insult just tried to call to complain and they aren't accepting calls because of 'system problems' ..... wonder if they are the same problems that have made their price match fail !!

They baffle us with science to make us think we're getting a bargain.

The prices are based on what they were at midnight at Mr T and Mr A. If one of them decides to reduce a price at 1am, you still get the BM based on the prices at midnight.

does anyone know if the price match applies to alcohol? I am looking at specifically Johnnie Walker Black Label , I need to buy 2 and its £27.99 at sainsburys but £22.00 in tesco, does that mean I would get back £5.99 voucher for each bottle I buy?

Can't answer for how the pricematch works (see other posts for that) but I can confirm it definitely works for alcohol. I've taken to shopping in Aldi lately and then using Sainsbury (nearest to Aldi) for my top us shop and wine is always on my Sainsbury list!

You would need to buy each bottle separately (as an individual basket) because the brandmatch voucher is capped at no more than £10.
