It does seem to vary between venues. This one doesnt include any booze though.

Ive said to them that I think that it seems a lot but he basically told me that I'm paying for the service and the time it takes to make all the lovely cakes, plus its a busy period and they only do 2 weddings a day and they already have one booked so I either pay that or they will find someone else who will.

Feel a bit miserable about it as we were assuming an afternoon tea would be more of a budget option but its not looking like it now :-(

My caterers are Claret Catering (based Poole). For £12.50 we r getting everything you mentioned each for 60 people . If you only have 10 people I can see it being more expensive, how many people?

I personally would tell them to stuff it, there is a lot to get them to drop from the price for it to be reasonable.

I'm assuming you are looking at 'outside caterers'.

I have asked them to quote on 60 people too. He said he would drop the price per head if there were more people! but the reason we are keeping the numbers low is financial so I'm not sure that makes sense!

the venue have 3 'approved caterers' so am waiting for quotes from the others and hoping they come in cheaper!

£12.50 sounds much more reasonable. Does that include table service?

Well we are having it on those afternoon tea cake stands, but they do bring it to our table etc. we even specified loose leaf tea etc. It even includes crockery.

Do you have to use the approved caterers? Because that does seem disproportionate!

Yes we do unfortunately - hopefully the others will come up with something a bit better!
