welcome finance chasing non existent debt!!

Hi all advice needed!!
Just had a call from wf saying "why have you not paid your debt??". - no hello or anything!!!
after saying it was impossible i had a debt (no credit rating in 2008) i was told i needed to prove i didn't have a loan!! after laughing out loud i asked how on earth i could prove it!!
I told them it was their responsibility to prove i did owe!!
She then said i must owe it because i recognised the name welcome finAnce!!! i said id seen it on tv and then spent more time laughing!!
In all seriousness i honestly have never had anything from them even though they say its from 2008. any advice what to do?? I've asked for it in writing and asked forproof. im convinced its a con!

Oh and they asked for copies of my driving license and passport to check signatures but i refused - i think its dodgy!!JayneTay

Just ignore them, refuse to speak to them again if they call, tell them to put anything in writing.
On the off chance that they do write then someone on here can supply you with the prove it letter to send.
Did they actually provide your name to you at any point? or say the name of the person they were purportedly chasing?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
