JACAMO Debt - how can i get out of it!??

I bought a couple of things from Jacamo over a year ago to the value of £135.

Not long after I lost my job so I was struggling to keep up with payments,

anyway I had a statement from them saying my balance is now £360!!

I've paid about £100 back but it keeps goin up and i miss payments the charges are ridiculous!

anybody know how I could get out of it?

Call them. Explain your circumstances and ask them to freeze interest and perhaps refund some of the late charges as a goodwill gesture (they might tell you where to go but it never hurts to ask).
Agree a repayment schedule that you can afford to avoid getting more late charges - don't let them bully you into agreeing a schedule that you can't keep up with. If they try to bully you, or refuse to agree to a repayment you can afford then supply the same offer to them in writing.

You can't get out of the money owed. You need to get in contact with them and explain your circumstances and that you cannot afford to make the minimum payments.

Often creditors will agree to freeze interest & charges if they are aware yu have lost your income and keep in contact with them and so long as you pay at least a token payment each month.

Thanks for the advice, I called them this morning and managed to arrange a payment plan of £15 per month, not bad!
Wish I did that from the start!

I found out as well that Jacamo give instant credit of £100 to anybody, in work or not, I find that absolutely ridiculous!

Yes, it is ridiculous that somebody who is out of work would apply for credit that they cannot afford to pay back.

Unless they were a person who had just been made redundant and could afford to pay the credit back with their lump sum. So the offer of credit may well be a good one.
