Car Finance / Loan / Hire Purchase

Hi Fellow MSE'ers.

I really need a new car, the old one has finally died at the grand age of 17 with 178k on the clock.....anyway, I'm not financially favourable to the bank at the mo as I am paying off new windows, doors and boiler. They all end in the next six months however, without a Car I can't drop the kids off at school and get myself to work on time.

I have been directed to a Website called Instantcarloan.com and whilst they look savvy, does anyone have any good words to say about them? I have been to the bank regarding a loan and it was a blunt no, wait until the other things have been paid off. I can't really wait as boss is now getting quite narky.
The only other name that has come from reading alot of gumf is Peter Vardy, but again, I'm skeptical.:(

I can realistically afford £150pm whilst paying the other things.
Can anyone direct me please to someone they have had a good experience with for car finance, loan, Hire purchase.

I have googled and read tonnes of pages but they all read like adverts.

Many thanks for your time.:)

You think that looks savvy?

They are in California, hence their reference to "autoloans" and request for a "zip code".

Even then, it looks like a scam site with no real information about the company.

    Stay clear.

:jMy god you guys are wonderful. When you think you see something you think may help you miss the bits that are out to get out! Thank you, thank you.

Apologies for asking such a question without giving all the facts.

file is poor, athough no missed payments, CCJs etc. I did move house 3 times in 4 years. My last move was April 2010. I am in the 6 months of paying for windows, doors and a new boiler so it reads that I have a large amount of finance but the payments for that are met by me and one other who are not financially linked. My gross income is £27K Which I know seems quite a lot to then be looking for a small loan but I spend 7K on childcare alone. I was looking to spend around £3k I don't need anything flash but I need something that's going to last, not cost the earth to run and be Very reliable.

I know there are no cheap and easy ways of securing these sorts of things but I was very interested in hearing if anyone had recommendations or previous experiences that would point me in the right direction.

Thanks again for the eye openers and second opinions.

Why not try getting a cheaper car? I know everyone has this thing about old cars not being reliable, but your last one kept going a long time. If you only need it for 6 months till your other finance agreements finish you could easily get an old nail for a couple of hundred quid.

It may be easier to get finance then when your outgoings have reduced. How about this? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201219469964023/sort/default/usedcars/price-to/500/make/bmw/page/1/postcode/ca12qj/radius/1500?logcode=p

Many others similar on auto trader.

:) thanks but I think the insurance and fuel costs alone would be a big of a problem but I do 'get the point'.

I'm sure it's just a panic reaction to the situation that has come up and by Friday I will have calmed down and found a little 1.0l run around for less than some families monthly shop and all will be well again.

'Tis a nice looking motor though for that money. Good find!:T

Just get a banger until you become "favourable" again.....simples.

Bangernomics are for the wise and clever...newcarnomics are for the financially baffled.
