Missed payments on credit rating - joint mortgage but separated

I'm hoping someone can help

My husband and I separated almost a year ago durning the separation we missed some mortgage payments while trying to sort out who kept what. I payed off the missed payments and kept in touch with my mortgage provider. Obviously the missed payments show in our credit rating. My ex has applied for credit and these are showing up on his credit score. The mortgage company advised me at the time that they would transfer the mortgage intoy name after a year of good payment. I gave them my income etc and they said that would be no problem. As we have had almost a year of good payments I rang and asked if they could remove the missed payments off our credit score as per their advise.

They have now said that they will remain on our credit file for 6-10years and they won't transfer into my name

I have been told I can pay to have this removed as the debt is settled

Can you tell me if
a. This is true,
b. what are my options if not

Also where does this leave me my separation? We do not have equity in the property due to prices lowering

Any advice would be greatly appreciated xxxxxx.

    A) No it's not true. The data reported is a statement of fact. Under the 'principles of reciprocity' (that all lenders agree to) they're not allowed to change it.

    B) You don't have any. The missed payments will stay on your file for up to 6 years max, but the 'damage' these will do will diminish with the passage of time.

Suppose it's time to speak to my ex and see what he thinks
