credit report low score

hi all, I'm currently waiting for my experian pin in the post, but have just signed up to equifax to check out my credit score and it is 217! I have one late payment from Oct 07, but the red flags are showing that I am not on the electoral roll(i am) and my cards are showing at my old(parents) address. Everything else is showing as green/excellent.
This past week I have updated my cards and phone bill to my current address. I have just sent a dispute to equifax asking them to update the information. How long would this take and would it see my credit score improve greatly?

I've just checked experian. And it states "no name listed on voters roll" I think I may have left my name off the edited register due to privacy and nature of my work. Would this be the reason? Could they amend it if I send a copy of my poll card? And re mortgage applications would this also suffice?0

When did you sign up to the electoral roll?? I'm having a similar problem. I'm planning to check again next month because it is supposedly updated monthly.0

Experian and the other CRAs are allowed access to the full electoral register, so opting out of the edited registered does not affect what you see on your credit report.
If you should be on the electoral roll at your current address and your Experian report says otherwise please email or write to us and we'll look into that for you. If you've only recently registered though it does take a few weeks for the information to come through to us.

Thank you. I think they have changed it now via a variation of my address.my block has a house name which makes things confusing.
When I apply for a mortgage do the banks do these checks themseleves. Ie look at the roll and where cards are registered on equifax/experien etc Or do they do the checks themSelves0
