PPI with Abbey / Santander
Options
Just a quick question.
I was recently made redundant, I cant find any of my PPI Terms and Conditions with Abbey / Santander.
I have had a loan out with them and then renewed it a few years back, no missed payments or anything like that.
its due to finish in November, but was made redundant earlier this month.
Its a Joint loan between me and my partner... she is still employed but I am now redundant.
If I call them and tell them I have just been made redundant what is the likely outcome, with the loan due to finish in September and there only being about £1500 left to pay?
Thanks in Advance.
Regards
James

So basically my question is... what will be the likely outcome?
Will they tell me tuff, keep paying it as your partner is still working. Or will they give me a payment break? or what else could the likely outcome of a call with them be?
Thanks0 -
Most of these policies will cover the first named on the loan only.
Most will not pay out for a period where you have been paid in lieu of notice.
Most will exclude the first 30 days after you finish your job.
But some policies are different. So you need to talk to the insurer.
Keep making payments until you're told otherwise.0 -
thanks for the info, have no plans of not paying, just thought would check what options they might give, think the first name on it might be my missus.
Thanks again for the advice, will give them a ring over next few days and see what they have to say.0 -
Hi all, looking some additional advice on this.
because of the Loan being a joint Loan, we have received forms for both of us, but is it just the one who has been made redundant who needs to complete the forms and get completed by employer or is it both names on the loan?0
