Thanks Lakshmi7 - 1Yr subscription The Times

This is a handy prize to win. I do not regularly buy any daily or Sunday newspaper, preferring to save my pennies and get the news from TV and surfing the internet. I do subscribe to The Week which gives me a weekly summary and an idea what the various major newspapers are saying about the main issues, but I will be happy to read a free copy of The Times every day for a year

Won in May, not yet received! In June they made an excuse about not being able to enter a 12 month subscription in the system. Hmmm, a subscription system that allows 6 months but not twelve months when the 12 month subscription is obviously better for the vendor - sounds suspicious. Also, why not give the prize winners a 6 month subscription with a note on the system to renew for another 6 months at the end of the term, sending a letter to the prize winner to confirm that would happen.

I received no reply so far to an email I sent one month ago so sent another email last night saying I will now wait one week before filing a complaint with theipm.org.uk..

Congratulations on winning even though you haven't received it yet!

Regarding them saying they can only issue a 6 month subscription on the system, maybe you should ask them if that is the case, why when you look at the subscription part of their website does it state you have to sign up for a minimum of 12 months!

Thanks for that, good point. I knew the 6 month excuse sounded suspicious and lame. Anyway, Edwin Mutton of theipm.org.uk is now on the case so hopefully that will get things moving.

Good news. I today received an email from thisisglobal apologising and saying that my contact there who emailed me about the prize left the company in August. They have now confirmed that The Times will contact me on Monday to set up my subscription and thisisglobal are sending me a £50 M&S voucher as an apology. :j
