Hi All
Probably covering something thats been covered many times - sorry about that.
We have a mortgage with the Halifax and are soon to be buying a bigger house. Our mortgage will stay the same, we're just moving it across.
We've already had an independant full survey done, but now Halifax want to get a Valuation survey done - fair enough - but £550?!
We've purchase two other properties so far and the valuation fee was about£195, and they just drove by the property.
Is this £550 compulsory?
Many thanks and kind regards

it is compulsory I'm afraid, you could have asked their surveyor to do the full survey and it would have been a lot cheaperI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.This signature is here as I follow MSE's Mortgage Adviser code of conduct. If you speak to halifax if your surveyor is on their panel you may be able to get the survey retyped for a lesser fee.I am a Mortgage Adviser
