i am still having problems with Barclaycard who i owe just over £1900 it will take me forever paying it off with on a reduced payment as Barclaycard will not budge at even reducing interest 12-9%. i have been on reduced payments nearly 4 yrs and so far has NOT passed onto a Debt collector. My father has offered to give me £1000 max to try and get rid of it and pay him back interest free
Do i write to Barclaycard and offer this or do i ask what % they are willing to take ?
thanks in advance for any advice or if anyone has a template letter i could use

There is a template letter on national debtline website you can use for sending a F&F offer - I would add in to the letter a date your offer is valid until (say a couple of weeks or so). See the bottom of this factsheet - http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/factsheet.php?page=24_full_and_final_settlement_offers
I would write with an offer rather than ask what they will take. You might want to start a bit lower than you can afford, so that you have room to make a slightly higher offer if they don't accept your first one or if they come back with a counter offer.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
