Uniform Tax Rebate

Hi,
My husbund has applied for the uniform tax rebate. He has received a letter today from the tax office stating his tax code is changing to 816L due to £60.00 flat rate job expenses. Is this the uniform tax and also will her get a rebate for all the years he has worked at his current company?
Thanks
Claire

He would have to apply for it I believe.
You can only go back 4 years.
The £60 allowance equates to (for this year at 20% tax) £12 extra in hard cash.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I did state on the letter which was sent that he wanted it to be backdated so hopefully a cheque should be on its way. Soes that mean he wouldn't get the full £60.00 back for the past few 4 years?0

No, its the tax on the £60.
It may be a different for earlier years because the relief would have changed over the years, ie last years tax was 17.5% if you see what I mean.
They are notoriously slow so I would give them a few weeks.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
