Help dress choice wobble!!!

Hi everyone,

I'm having a major wobble about my choice of dress!! before choosing i thought i would want a fairly plain satin strapless dress. I went with my mam and chief bridesmaid who are both very honest and wouldnt be afraid to tell me the truth. The dress i picked i twisted about while on the hanger but decided to try on as i loved the detail on the bodice. So it happened to be the first dress i tried on, i felt wonderful even before she had finished fastening the lace up back and when i turned to the mirror i looked amazing my waist was tiny! and i am not a tiny girl at all. When i showed my mam and bridesmaid they both welled up and mam said i looked like a princess! i tried on about another 15 dresses and narrowed it down to 2 dresses the other being a satin plainish strapless one. i loved this too but felt the satin material didnt move well so i tried the first one back on again and it being taffeta it moved lovely so i decided to go for it!

Anyhow im now thinking maybe its a bit traditional and maybe abit gypsy wedding! although i would be wearing a hoop.
Please have a look and see what you think (mine is ivory and not white)

It's hard to help you choose as everyone has different oppinions on dresses.
The most important thins is that you like it & feel good in it.

Have you got a link to the satin one or something similar?

RainbowDrops is right btw, everyone's taste is different. I am not into strapless dresses at all so won't be any help in saying 'go for this one or that one', but the vital thing is how *you* feel in the dress.

Oh and everyone has dress wobbles, I've had some too! But I know that my dress is the one for me :)

Best thing to do is go back and try them both on again. I don't think the taffata one looks gypsyish at all, it's stunning! I'm a big fan of taffata because of how light it is compared to satin.

The dress is stunning!! Not gypsy like at all. Whatever makes you feel princess-y :)

well if thats a big fat gypsy wedding type dress, then looks like im having a big fat gypsy wedding! mine is VERY similar to that one (essence of australia d1199).

i chose mine as i hate satin and i love how light this one is and how easy it moves :)

    go with your instinct xx

My daughter is getting married in August and had a dress wobble a few weeks ago. Having bought a very inexpensive dress several months ago, it turns out it was the price that made her like it, not the dress itself.

Havinig seen it on, and her face (she really wasnt happy) we went out, and ive bought her another, one that she looks a million dollars in, that made her beam from ear to ear in, that shows off her figure and makes her look even more beautiful than she already is :kisses3:.

The fact that i didnt get much change out of £1000 doesnt come into it.

Its your day, and if you are in a dress you are not sure of, everyone will see it on your face. Stick with your gut feelings and the honest opionions of your mum and friends, good luck and happy shopping!

Go back and try them both on, then see how you feel about them both.
You're allowed to change your mind from what you first thought of. If the big one makes you feel like a princess and the plain one doesn't, get it!

As long as you can fit down your aisle, you won't look like Gypsy Weddings! I think it's lovely, but you need to feel comfortable in it.
