Monday 14th May - What Small DFW Things Have You Done Today??

kjp

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!
Morning all!
After a terrible off the bandwagon weekend (both £££ and lblblb!) I am back with renewed vigour! My OH wants to move out at the end of summer, so need to start building up the house deposit properly, rather than wasting it away...!
So, today I will:
Check banks - move excess to ISA
Check CC - refund?
Pay off credit card with gift fund - bought present for mother in $ so used 0% commission card
List 2 things on Ebay
Do some exercise
Do some OU
Drive economically
NSD
Food from stores
2lt water
SB Clicks
Print off car insurance quote to try and beat down existing supplier
Work hard!
Think that's me for now, will check back in later!

Morning all
Thanks KJP for starting us off
I fell off the wagon with a massive bump this weekend, had an excellent dinner out for a fiver with a friend on Fri, but in an emergency birthday card panic spent £7 on two cards!! And about £15 on feeding the 2 of us over the weekend. So, attempting to get back on it!!
* Breakfast and Dinner from stores
* Lunch from work, will seek out something cheap and filling
* Trip to Mr T later, list ready, will not deviate!!
* Washing on the line later, hopefully will be sunny enough it can go outside!!
Trying to negotiate some overtime at work, 15 hours was offered to my team but none of the part time staff were able to do it. I said I'd have it and come in on either the weekend or stay late each day for a few weeks but they said they could only give it to a part timer!! It's not like excess hours cost them more to pay! Argh!
Right better get to work before I'm late!!
Have a good day all

Thanks to kjp for starting the tread
Hi to newbies and hugs to those who need them !
First of 2 days study leave……I’m really enjoying doing my AAT course! Roll on year 2 ! Plan for today – practice assessments and write up points to remember ….while I am waiting to go into the exam I’ll read the notes and somehow they’ll get into my head !
Today I have/will:
• Meals from stores
• Log food on ww website
• Checked bank – no change
• Keep an eye out for jobs I can apply for
• Checked quidco
• Checked survey sites
• NSD
• Watched films and bits on the sky box
• Washing on 30 degrees & dry indoors
• Jumper on rather than heating on
• Saved myself about £15 by not going to work :money:
Think that’s about it for me
Take care everyone
