Give the PPI a punt but forget trying to anything with the loan. You could find yourself in trouble for commiting fraud to obtain money. Mental illness would not be a defence, just mitigation which may reduce the punishment.0

No i didnt inform them i was suffering from depression, and obviously i knew what i was doing was wrong, and have known all along, but i was not thinking practically at the time.
Maybe you should just stop looking for a scapegoat, you may have been depressed but what has that got to do with anything, you got yourself into this mess you had a choice to say no to another loan but you didn't, you made up a !!!! and bull story to get the loan and now you are looking for another one to get yourself out of paying for it.
Just pay the money back and hopefully you will learn something from what you did. We have all done things when we were young that we probably would not do now but as I said before, it was a choice that you made that you cannot now alter, so you are just going to have to deal with it and accept that nobody else is to blame but yourself.
To be honest your post stinks to me of somebody that is trolling you seem to have a ridiculous answer for everything..0 -
I do take full responsibility for taking out the loan. But as i said the banking code is there to stop individuals like me. and in this instance it was not adhered to in the slightest. but thank you for the reply.
Like others have said claim the PPI back and move on.
You will not get any more compo.0 -
I would've said that PPI was a good choice given the OP history.0

Depression is an unpleasant illness, especially where sad circumstances trigger it.
But really, let it go. You got the money you wanted. Pay it back and get on with your life.0 -
I agree, maybe you should stop looking for a scapegoat. I personally think the person you spoke to was doing you a favour. Lets face it, you wanted the loan, that's why you applied. You knew you couldn't afford it (at 22 you are an adult, not a child) and the lady offered solutions (different reasons) to help you get the loan. What she did would maybe be classed as unethical, but that happened a lot back then and no one complained (you didn't at the time as it got you your money didn't it) and I personally think she was nice to do that for you. Its a bit mean to now, at a later date, blame her for helping you, when its you that didn't pay back what you borrowed and after a previous application being denied, the person you speak of helped you. Its all personal opinion of course but I see you at fault here, not the lady who bent the truth a little to help you. You got what you wanted.0

But you are thinking practically now, thinking up ways to put the blame on someone else. More self-respect would come your way if you accepted that you made mistakes and learn from them and stand up and face them.0 -
because i was just happy to have the money!
That's probably hit the nail on the head.
By all means take the advice to investigate reclaiming the PPI, but that's about the best you can realistically hope for.“In any moment of decision the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing at all.” - Roosevelt0 -
You should pay back what you owe. Stop trying to avoid paying back like the countless number of other scroungers that use this website. (Not everyone is like that, of course.)Getting married to a wonderful lady on August 10, 2012.
Need to save up, lose weight, reduce my money worries and get back to being the real me! :j0 -
Dear oh dear Vicky, it's terribly irksome to read posts such as this where someone is happy to blame everyone else.
The Gambling posts are similar after piling up thousands on credit cards and payday loans. They too wish to be absolved from all responsibility for their actions.
You applied, you took, you spent (all with a gleeful smile) - now you must repay.
If you are struggling, there is help for you, but you won't rally much support for trying to go down your intended path of blaming anyone you can think of.0
