Hi Everyone, I went to make dd's packed lunch this morning to find last weeks sandwiches still in there.:eek:
Now it smells bad, i've tried washing it in hot soapy water but it still smells.
Does anyone know how i can get rid of the smell? I really don't want to have to replace it so close to the end of term. Thanks. In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different.0 -
Try putting some bicarbonate of soda in it to absorb the smell.

We came back from our holidays last week to find dd had made different korean foods and dips - she lived there for a yr - and put them into plastic storage containers.Anyway, she`s gone now but left them behind, i`ve tipped the stuff away and washed them but there`s still a strong smell on them.
Up to now, i`ve had them in hot soapy water, soaked them in bleach and sprayed them with ant-bacterial cleaner and left them outside in the sun all day but can still smell the stuff.
Anyone any ideas on how i can tackle them, please?0 -
Have you tried bicarb? That's good at getting rid of smells.0

Hi nuttywoman,
There was a thread on this a day or two ago that may help:

I'm thinking of a paste of bicarbonate of soda rubbed onto the inside of the container and left for a good while before washing off with hot, soapy water.Household: Laura + William-cat

I wonder if blitzing a lemon in it might neutralise the smell?
I find that the tomatoey red colouring mine gets from time to time fades after a couple of washes. They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0
