I wanna be rid of my tumble dryer

My tumble dryer started blowing only cold air a couple of weeks back. It's happened before and it was an easy repair, but as it was just a basic model I decided to get a new more whizzy programmable model instead, what with the family having doubled in size over recent years.
Apart from the fact that it isn't going to be easy to get in the car to take to the landfill, I'd have liked to recycle it. I tried freecycle and a 1p starting price on ebay, stating what was wrong and that it should be an easy repair, but no takers. I'd have thought that someone handy would be interested to get it to repair and sell on, but obviously not.
Anybody got any bright ideas of how I can get rid of it, ideally so that someone will come and pick it up? I'm in Kent if that makes any difference.

I bought a new one from Comet and they took my old one away for FREE and the new one was a good price, think there is a tick box somewhere on the site when you order online.0 -

Don't you know a man with a van?
Before I got my car I had a van and everyone would ask me can you do me a favour and take this to wherever. they always offered me money for fuel etc but my company paid for it so I wasnt bothered.
other than that I cant think of anything stuff taken to the local tip is recycled as there are seperate places for white goods so our local tip does sort it allout we are told.0 -

No unfortunately I know nobody with a van, wish I did!
Managed to flog it on ebay for a whole penny, they are picking it up at the weekend.
Thanks for the responses.0 -
I have seen on a documentary recently where some of the prisons, especially the open ones, recycle white goods so i don't know if it is worth trying the nearest one, if there is one to you....... just a thought0
