Late Payments on Credit Report
Options
Hi - I'm looking for some advice.
I recently got my credit report from Equifax and have tried (so far without success) to query something on it.
I had a very small Barclays loan from 2005 - 2010 and on the credit report it says I made 12 consecutive late payments. Each are only single late payments so its not that a missed a full 12 months of paying (otherwise it'd have been defaulted I assume).
This actually looks like the standing order/direct debit or whatever it was (cant truthfully remember) was coming out a day/week late.
I've tried to query this via Equifax but had to contact Barlcays myself. After going through 5 different departments it seems no one can help because the loan was paid off (back in 2010) rather than still being open or having been defaulted.
The problem I have is there are 12 late payments on my Credit Report that I truly do not believe should be there.
Does anyone know if I have any chance of challenging the details on the report and what the process would be to do so.
Many Thanks

I would query whoever actually set the direct debit up.
Were funds available on the day that the DD was set up.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I assume it was setup by Barclays but as I say when I contacted them this morning they literally said that theres nothing that they can do to help now that the account has been paid.
I'd be lying if I said 100% yes or no to whether there were funds because I simply cant remember, it was back in 2007 but the payments were very small so I would have thought so - also its literally 12 consecutive months so I would assume that for at least some of the months that the money wouldve been there?
Also theyre only single late payments and I certainly wasnt getting calls every month asking for money so I can only think the payments were just a day or week or however long behind?0 -
Boomers I'd be chasing this as the ICO reports they should report correct info.
Get a set of your statements and order for around this time it should show if its a direct debit, if its a direct debit that something you have not control over and they were in the wrong.
If its a standing order who authorised the standing order and was it ever amended. Also try chasing up what it send on the original loan paperwork.
This is impeding your ability to get credit and therefore must be resolved0
