Saturday 12th May - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. :j
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :T
Good morning all, havent started this before so hope its ok!
Today I will -
- Check online banks
- Do full load of washing and hang outside to dry
- All meals from home
- Need to find a cheap suitcase in town, thinking primark!
- Tidy up the house and get ready to move, only 3 weeks now!
Have a lovely day everyone! x

Morning Katy ann, where is everyone?! Thanks for starting off the thread.
It is beautiful here today, really enjoyed the morning dog walk and now I'm having my 'quiet' hour before the day starts properly.
So today:
 washing already in the machine and will be able to hang outside. Done
 made a payment into my savings account. Only small but feeling really pleased about that!
 taking the kids to the theatre tonight for a break dance/hip hop/breakdancing festival. Really looking forward to it, love dance.
 will take sweets and park the car in the back roads so hopefully NSD.
 dd's judo instructor has cancelled today's session so hopefully we'll get a refund!
 cheap trip out with the kids later, will take dog to the woods.
 must make that bolognaise sauce! Done. Made chicken stock too.
 moved the money required for w/c 20 May's direct debits into savings account. OK, the interest is probably pence but it's MY pence now, mwah ha ha!
Have a lovely day everyone, hope you've all got the sun.:D

Good morning everyone. It’s a lovely sunny day here today thankfully as I have been up since 4am, as dd wouldn’t settle. At least I am up and about today as I spent most of yesterday in my bed as I wasn’t feeling well and I am still a bit choked today.
On a positive note I did do some mse work last night as I spoke to oh about getting rid of the bigger car and he agreed so now he just need to sort a few minor problems and we can sell it. As well as that I collected some files, which I’m going to use for organising course work and I also paid some money off my loan.
Katy Ann - Thanks for starting us off today.
My list for today:[STRIKE]OH hs taken my car to work, [/STRIKE]which will save us about £10 today
[STRIKE]Quick shower[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Check emails and deal with anything urgent[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Check up on benefits that I could get [/STRIKE](been meaning to do this since last week) I will have a trip to the council office and a phone call to DWP next week in order to double check what I can claim.
[STRIKE]Collect up washing do full loads – hang outside if it stays nice[/STRIKE] Managed to get it all hung outside and better still got it dried and non iron items are now tidily away.
[STRIKE]Take kids for a walk to the hairdressers[/STRIKE] – dd is getting her first cut and ds is getting his first proper cut as oh was doing his but ds now refuses to let him do it, he is getting so grown up) It went a lot better than I expected both kids sat nicely and got their hair cut, so treated them to a sweet.
[STRIKE]Tackle some of the ironing pile[/STRIKE] Got some of it done but still loads to do.
[STRIKE]All meals from stores[/STRIKE] Success
[STRIKE]Do meal plans for next week and make shopping list[/STRIKE] Meal plan done as long as I can get the ingredients that I ordered.
[STRIKE]Online shop armed with a list[/STRIKE] Spent more than planned but then it is 2 weeks, as didn't do shopping last week.
[STRIKE]Surveys and one poll[/STRIKE]
:)Discuss with oh what the big car needs and make a list so that I can start sourcing prices Work in Progress
:)Look into PPI for oh Work in Progress
:)Sort through course work and sort into files that I got off freegle Work in Progress. I have started to think about a different thing that I could do whilst still continuing with current course of study so will look into this more tomorrow/next week.Do some studying Work in Progress
[STRIKE]Do volunteer work[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Do a little bit of m.shopping work[/STRIKE]
:)Make a start on organising diary for next week Work in Progress[STRIKE]Keep the heating on low since it is a nice day but need to keep dd warm [/STRIKE] Managed to do today
:)Plant some of the seeds Didn't get around to doing this today.[STRIKE]Have a NSD apart from shopping and kids haircuts.[/STRIKE] Success apart from an extra spend of £1 on sweet after hairdressers but kids deserved it.
I think that is everything that I need to get done today, at least I hope it is, as it seems like I have a busy day ahead so I best make a start.
I'm happily surprised by the amount of things I have managed to achieve on my list today therefore I am off to put my feet up for a bit and have a cuppa before bed.Aiming to get Debt Free.0 -

Does this work? I assumed you could only use a voucher that's attached to your Tesco Clubcard?
Thinking about it, I guess unless you present your Clubcard when buying the petrol they have no idea if the voucher is really yours. Hmmm...0 -

My apologies to whoever I offended enough to get my Tesco 5p off petrol post removed.
It wasn't meant in a negative way ... I just found one in a trolley outside my local store last night. Effectively made a profit on buying a loaf!0 -

Morning - sorry afternoon everyone
Not a great start, forgot to take snack to swimming for sons so ended up spending £1.40 in vending machine and got tempted to a coffee at £1.20
Just need to be better prepared next week I guess. So today I will / have done:
Check bank account
List more items on ebay - running out of things to sell :rotfl:
Make soup and freeze for next week's lunches
Breakfast, lunch and dinners from stores :T
Decided today will be cleaning day to stop me going out to spend any more
Clean out piggies and use paper shreds from work
