Query re Tesco purchase

Something really weird happened. I bought a load of food shopping and also a pair of jeans from Tesco this morning. When I got home I tried the jeans on and they are too big, so I put them back in the bag and found the receipt. Searched for the jeans and......they aren't there! No mention of them on the receipt. Don 't know what to do now - if I take them back they will think I've stolen them, won't they? Advice please.

If you go back and explain what has happened why should they think you had stolen them? You'd hardly be going back & telling them about it if you had. would you? Of course, you'll then need to pay for a pair of jeans in the right size if you want them. Might be an idea to try them on in store too.0

Thanks for your advice. I would have tried them on but there aren't any changing rooms in our Tesco - deepest darkest Cornwall lol! And I think the customers would have run screaming from the store if I had tried them on in public.....0

Please excuse my inappropriate suggestion then! I guess I am spolit having a Tesco Extra with a "suite" of fitting rooms in the town.0
