What about something she can personalise herself like one those baby footprint moulds, the ones where you can take an imprint of your baby's hands and feet or something?

I don't know how you'd go about getting that sent straight to her though.

They do lovely gifts, I have always been pleased with what I have ordered (I have had a few bits from there over the years).
I don't know if they deliver to a different address, but I can't see why not. You could always email them through their "contact us" page. hth

Recently I bought a lovely Handmade Baby Health Record Book Cover. This is such a nice present to keep the not so nice NHS Health record book of my son. Amazing quality, and a lot of nice details.

One other idea I came across is personalized art for newborns with the baby's name, birth date, and other info squeezed into really cute shapes like a butterfly or giraffe or train. If you search the Etsy dot com for PersonalGraphix, you can find the site.
