We've teamed up with the newly opened Abadia Retuerta LeDomaine, in central Spain, to give you the chance to win a two-night break for two, including dinner and breakfast.
LeDomaine opened on 22 March 2012, in Valladolid, following one of the most extensive restorations of an historic and listed medieval abbey in recent years. The 22-room hotel is located in a beautiful enclave on the banks of the Duero River, in the midst of the award-winning vines of the Abadia Retuerta winery.
The original abbey of Santa Maria de Retuerta dates back to 1146, and Swiss architect Marco Serra's design ensures that many original features remain. The hotel itself is housed within the former hospice of the abbey, with the cloisters becoming the hotel's corridors, and the restaurant resides in what was once the refectory. The adjoining church once again acts as meeting place, but this time for secular events.
LeDomaine is a two-hour drive from Madrid or 45 minutes' drive from Villanubla Airport, Valladolid; Ryanair flies direct to Villanubla from London Stansted. Flights excluded.
From which century does the Santa Maria de Retuerta date?
