            Thanks for the links stephen
Well i've been brave. made pasta and rice in it so far and it came out cooked to perfection. Didn't make the cajun sausages in it as OH and i still wary of it.

I've got a combi and use it pretty much every day. Mines an old model and I find it's not very good for baking cakes or pies and I haven't had the guts to roast a joint of meat in it but anything else is fine. The grill on mine isn't very good, it's quicker to use the grill on the main oven but I'm sure the newer models are much better.Dum Spiro Spero0

Combi every time. My first combi, 26 years ago, was over £300 and lasted years. I tend not to use it for dual purpose cooking, but just as a fast little convection oven or a micro / grill.
Fish is better in the micro than by any conventional method, ditto porridge, imo. If rice is properly rinsed it cooks like a dream, and so do new potatoes. Micro can be best for many things.
