Thanks everyone, I wasn't really looking to defend myself with the "I can't understand why I would do it" statement, as is said, I got the money, signed for it and have lived with the consequences but thanks for confirming I WAS a plonker. Now I have been very patient over the last five years, got rid of my credit cards, got a 999 credit score and all is well again. Thanks again for all your time and responces its nice to know people are out there ready to agree with me, don't get much of that in our house LOL

Maybe im confusing them with another company of the same name. I used them via Currys to get a new laptop, they were part of the HSBC banking group. Is this the same company everyone posts about? Linked to HSBC? I didn't think they (the HSBC group) took on many risks.

Welcome were THE subprime lender, they may have had a tie up with Currys but I've never heard them being linked to HSBC. They were part of the Cattles Group which also do such honest activities as doorstep lending and payday loans.

Welcome went bust when the money they lent out didn't come back (suprise, suprise) no matter what the interest rate, if you lend to people who have a history of not paying back you might as well throw your money away.

Ahh ok, different company then. The one I used was definitely part of the HSBC group. Thanks for letting me know :).
