Hi,

Please could somebody advise what the current tax benefits (if any), are for married couples. I recently had to change to a much lower paid job, and I was wondering if there is any benefit in moving any allowances to my wife who is now the higher earner.

Thanks for any input.

Each person has their own tax allowance and it is not transferrable.

If you are a non tax payer, the only way you can save tax is by putting any taxable savings into your name.

Sorry no you can't move allowances from one person to another.

Only elderly couples have a married couples allowance ( don't know the exact age).
