Advice on debt from the USA

Hello, I'm hoping someone can help point me in the right direction.
I live in the UK and am looking for a debt advice agency who could help me set up a payment plan and negotiate with a collections agency. The debt was accrued in the US and the collection agency is there, too. I've contacted several of the advice agencies recommended here but none have been able to help me with US debt. Please can anyone advise? Many thanks.

As long as you don't want to go back to the US, this is not such a big issue - there appears to be very little to negotiate. Just pay what you can afford every 3 months. Don't do it monthly, currency change fees will take a fair slice out of your payments. Do you have UK debt also?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

there may be another option. If the firm has a UK office which some do. contact the US and UK office joint email asking for the uk office to take on the debt and pay it that way. there will probably be a charge, but you need to ensure they notify you of costs. if you are paying every 3 months calculate the cost of currency conversion on that for each payment until debt is cleared. (usually around £25) per transfer. if it takes 20 payments thats like £500 if it costs £100 to bring the debt to the uk office £400 saved also it might not cost a penny to switch it to the UK office.0

Are you a US citizen ? Do you intend to go back there ? Do you have any assets there ? If the answer is no let them chase you for the debts not the other way round. Also looking at the statute of limitations in the US it could be time barred from about 3 years old, how old is this debt ?Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0
