in Cutting tax
My family Has to relocate as my husband has recently found a job away from our family home. We are buying a home near where he works. He is registered self-employed as for tax purposes,as he is in partnership. The company is not paying for our move. Could relocation cost be used as an expenses in his self assessment. Relocation cost would be stamp duty, legal fees, mortgage product fees, and removal costs. Kindly those know who pls advise

I hope that one of the HMRC people will give an official reply, but in the meantime my understanding of this issue is that you can't claim tax relief on these expenses. An itinerant worker might get away with it, and employees often have their expenses paid by the company.

Is there any equipment, stock or tools to be moved? That seems to be a legitimate expense, but the other things you mentioned count as personal expenses.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?
