can i have a months break re cc payment?

I am moving into a cheaper house share at the begining of June (great in the long run!) however as I need to pay a deposit and rent up front at the begining, it is leaving me with not enough to pay the minimum payments on my credit cards. Can I phone the banks to ask them for a 'months break' i suppose? Will I still be charged the interest?
Thanks for any help

You can ask, it will depend on your bank. There is a risk they will default you regardless - is there no other way you can find the balance? Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....
