hi all,
i had my credit report through from experian the other day and i noticed alot of searches on there from a company called Lowell Portfolio. The searcheswere all done on my old address at my mothers address.
Then out of the blue I received a letter yesterday at my new address fromthese Lowell people regarding a debt with natwest. I’ll be honest in that it isso long since I banked with natwest that i cannot remember if i did pay offwhat was owed but my question is why wasn’t it on my credit file? It must be wellover 7 years since I had any form of contact with natwest so I was wonderningif because it is over 6 years, this is why it is not on my credit file? I don’twant to contact them and open a can of worms as I am worried they will issue adefault on my credit file as we are trying to get a mortgage. Has anybody gotany advice on how to approach this. Do i just ignore the letter or should icontact them by letter?
If i still owe something I am more than happy to pay it but i just want tomake sure nothing pops up on my credit file!
Any advice would be gratefully received.

If there was any debt and it's over 6 years since it was defaulted, then any default on your credit file would have expired and been taken off.
If the debt really exists, then it would also be statute barred and Lowlifes can get lost.
You probably need to (a) dispute that there is any debt in the first place and (b) point out that regardless any debt would be statute barred.

In particular the letter in this post could be the most appropriate?
