Thursday 10th May - What small DFW things will you do today??!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. :j

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :T

Morning all, hope everyone is well. It's still rainy here, could really do with whacking a nice sunny holiday on the credit card and jetting off in seek of some vitamins (I can but dream!!)

Plan of action for the day:

* Check banks, refund has been acknowledged!
* Drive sensibly
* Lunch from home, dinner from stores.
* Lots of water at work (free and super good for me)
* Quick tidy round this evening
* Load of washing on, put dry clothes away and ready the airer for another few days of work!
* Might need to get out in the garden with the scissors, grass is about 2 foot tall thanks to all the rain but a bit risky to take the electric lawn mower out (well that's OHs excuse anyway)
* Positive mental attitude, only 3 weeks to payday!!

Have a good day all

I have enough money for the rest of my life... as long as I never have to pay for anything again!

    Good morning everyone

Feeling a little flustered today but I will:

Contact bank to see if application for basic account is going through
Post off parcel - ebay goods
List 2 more cds on ebay
    Lunch from home
Coffee from home (this is a big deal for me as I would normally take a trip to the coffee shop before entering work!)
Organise work lunch menu for next week (think I'll make a batch of soup Sunday which should last me all week - have worked out it would cost £1 for the week :T)

Oh, I've a meeting this morning which will offer sandwiches - should I eat them and keep homemade lunch for tomorrow ? What would you do?

Hi all and thanks for starting us off Sunshine. It is so misty here, if I wasn't so tight I'd turn the light on!!

925pws, well done for staying out of the coffe shop, you must be saving yourself a fortune! Definitely make the most of those free sandwiches and if there are any left over, they can be tomorrow's lunch. I'm sure no one will notice!

    Today:
    • DD home sick so that's £2 on school dinners saved!
    • PAD of £5.01 (I round my current account down to the nearest £5 every day and do an online payment to card. I'm so gutted if there's not enough in there and I miss a day!)
    • NSD
    • Packed lunches for DH and DS.
    • Have applied for the free insulation from martin's email.
    • Make mother of all bolognaise sauces bulked out with lentils. I still can't believe my son hasn't noticed!
    • Make some flapjack for tomorrow's packed lunches and try not to eat it all today.
Have a fab frugal day folks!:D

    "Morning" all

Aiming for a NSD today (lunch will be on expenses as I'm working away again)

Regular posters will know that I'm going through a divorce at the moment and am trying to save towards the costs. It's pay day tomorrow, so I've transferred everything left in my current account into my savings account.

    Today I have/will
Checked online banking and transferred money into savings account
    Showered using hotel toiletries
    Raided hotel room of tea/coffee/sugar
Walked from hotel to office (and will walk back tonight)
    Charged phones at work
    Free tea/coffe/water at work
    Lunch on expenses
    Use hotel pool
    Updated signature

    Have a great day everyone
