Cost of Driving licences to increase probably in October so can I

apply to renew my driving Licence in September to avoid this price inrease? My licence expires in April 2013.

I checked the DVLNI site http://www.dvlni.gov.uk/dvlni.aspx but cant see the relevant information.

  • Hi, you can renew your drivers licence at any period during your currently issued one. This is called an optional renewal, I got mine done a year or so ago due to it's condition, currently costs £20 and will give you a new 10 year licence.

    £50 is for a new licence. Its £20 for a renewal which will be incresing in October to £30
