Our local Playgroup is looking to hold a Olympic Themed Summer Fayre and I am looking for ideas for stalls, games etc. to fit in with the theme.
Any suggestions would be great, thanks.

Could you have hoops, small wooden, that are the colours of the Olympic hoops. Then have flags of different countries stood in a bottle. The aim is to throw the hoops over the flags. Hope this is clear.
Just found this for you ... http://www.birthdaypartyideas.com/html/olympics.html. Might help youNothing Changes if Nothing Changes0 -
hi i am organising a Olympic themed summer fayre but stumbled upon this whilst researching ideas. it is all for raising money for our cause and not for profit but it seems that you are not allowed to use anything in regards to the Olympics without prior consent plus it must benefit the Olympics if you get it.
it is on their website london2012.com and it is is under not for profit organisations.
Sorry if this disheartens you. i myself have to rearrange everything and i only have four weeks in which to do it.0 -
Are your parents friendly? could have a parents vs staff tournament or something similar?
Get staff to dress as athletes
Write to local sports places (football ground, rugby club, etc) to ask for sports related raffle prizes? - These places can often be more generous than you think.
Cake sale with olympic rings
You could do a pin the medal on the athlete or something?
Panning for gold (stretching it a bit but medal-ish)
Not sure... my work are doing something similar so if I get any more ideas I'll pass them along.0 -
Our school are having a similar event, and are having various tournaments (football, netball and tug of war). We want to give everyone who takes part a token award, and I've been asked to source chocolate medals - however the only ones I can find are Cadbury's ones at £1 each!! Dedfinitley not MSE, as I need about 50.
I wondered whether anyone has any alternative suggestions?0 -

48 plastic medals for £8.99 (plus £2.50 postage) I have seen the same medals in the supermarkets (Tesco and Sainsburys I think near the party stuff and also in Wilko but not sure how much they are. There might be some cheaper ones on ebay, but that was the first listing I saw.
I have also seen chocolate medals, like the cadburys ones for 59p in Home Bargains in the sweet aisle.
