Please Help. Shall I pay Three mobile network?

Hi

Can you help me please? I have cleared £6000 of my debts over the past 3 months but I have 1 left and dont know what to do. Please help.
It is with the mobile phone company THREE. I signed a contract in my name for my sister and when the bill came in for the amount of £703 she refused to pay it. I was stubbon at the time and didnt pay it either. It split our family up at the time but the money was not paid in the end.
It has been over 2 years since the last letter i received from them but I want to clear my name and pay it, as it is showing on my credit report as Red8 and still outstanding.
I was going to call them and ask if they will take a smaller settlement or
is it best for me to keep quiet?

Hope you can help

Many Thanks
L

I'm in a similar situation with t-mobile. I think I'm going to write them a letter and offer them a full and final settlement of £100 (I owe £400). If they won't accept it, then they'll have to take a small amount each month. How much were you thinking of offering? One thing that someone told me was that they have to be able to produce the original signed documentation which many (apparently) don't have. I was considering asking for that.

    Thanks for your reply.
I was going to ask them what they would accept! Maybe I should just make them an offer of half the money. My boss said to ignore it as they havnt tried to contact me, but I want to buy a house in the next year or two and this will affect me.
Do you think I should ask them to forward me a copy of my signed agreement and then make an offer on whether they provide it or not?
    Thanks for your help.

I think it would be worth asking for a copy of the signed agreement. It can't do any harm can it?

check the contract carefully. they should not have issued a monthly bill for £700 as you should have had a maximum call charges level where they contact you and say you have gone over say £100 in a particular month.

    Thanks for your advice

I am going to ask them for a copy of the contract they have on their file. I asked them more than once to block the phone for out going calls and they refused. I then emailed them to request it so I had proof I had asked. I still have the emails on my work pc I think. they cut the phone off after the 7th month I think but I had to pay £65 a month for the remaining 5 months!

    Thanks
