Co-op price rise?

Just downloaded a summary of Co-op energy tariffs from:

http://www.cooperativeenergy.coop/assets/documents/price-list-v2.1.pdf

The first page is headed 'prices w.e.f 8May 2012' - and the rates are higher that I am currently paying. Has the Co-op announced a price rise that I've missed (no emails that I'm aware of), or have I misunderstood something?

I haven't heard about a price rise, and nothing on their website at the moment, but looking at the new version our rates for the South West are still the same.

Perhaps I should clarify that the apparently increased tariff that I have noticed is the electricity tariff for the Midlands region (region14). I don't know whether any others are changed.

I thought they had to give you notice with the option to switch away without penalty?

When the Coop launched to customers in the Midlands they had a much lower rate which increased from the 8th May.

arjar, you should have received an email ...

According to section 11 of their T&C's you are correct. 30 days notice.

Their price tables are based upon the date you joined them -

    Version 2.1 applies between 13/4/11 and 31/7/11
Version 2.2 1/8/11 and 3/10/11 and so on.

They do adjust their prices now and again but in any event the 30 day notice applies if the change is to your disadvantage.

I must add that apart from taking around a week for direct debits to show, I have found them pretty good with customer service.

Meggsy - thank you for the email trail to their notification. It seems I missed this somehow. My 'spam' box doesn't go back that far, so perhaps it just got spammed and lost.

Bubblesbonbon - I agree - their service seems pretty good. I'm considering giving them my gas contract as well.

I'm happy that I switched to them, when I read all the problems customers have with the Big Six I think that could still be me battling with npower ;)

Really? I thought their prices were meant to be the same for everyone (apart from differences between regions). Isn't that one of their "promises"?

Could those be the actual prices at those times of the year instead?

It's long been a bugbear of mine on here that the Co-Op have (disappointingly) turned out to be very similar to the Big 6 in the way they market their gas and electric but my posts proclaiming such have always been shot down in flames. Even the £50 cash back offer at 'certain' times of the year goes against what a Co-Op should be about imo (I mean, who's paying for that?)but hey ho.

When there is a price rise or drop their system creates another version. When I switched it was to Pioneer v 2.1 so will always refer to that tariff as long as I am a customer
