Lemon curd cake in Breadmaker

I have a jar of ginger lemon curd mum bought me that I need to use up, I've made the banana loaf today in the bm which has turned out fab, I wondered if anyone had tried the same recipe with lemon curd or similar (marmalade maybe?) ?
Not sure whether to put in a random amount of lemon curd, leave out the sugar, etc. I'm worried it might burn if I put too much lemon curd and sugar in? I'm a bit pants with cooking, still learning, so all suggestion swould be very much welcomed!

oh this sounds lovely. Can't help any with what you would do with a breadmaker but I know I'd just have ginger lemon curd on toast until I had bad indigestion or the jar was gone
You could make an ordinary sponge cake and use this as filling? Nigella lawson also had a recipe for little lemon gems (kind of biscuit with lemon curd in the middle) that were yummy too.
Enjoy it0 -
Don't know about the breadmaker idea, but it might make smashing doughnut style muffins.:DI have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.

Not sure about the breadmaker, but sounds like it would be good in these biscuits...

Thanks everyone! I have half a jar left - I've experimented by making the marmalade cake in the Panasonic book but replacing ground ginger with real grated ginger (no ground ginger in...) and marmalade with the ginger lemon curd and some grated lemon rind. Had to cook it an extra 10 mins, just done in middle but bit burnt only on edges, I'll trim em off. It's cooling now - I'll try it and let you know the recipe if it's nice!!!
The lemon curd biscuits sound fab, thanks for that! And the idea of lemon curd in doughnuts would be heaven...
You know, I once put on about 4 stone cos of the lemon curd the farm shop near me sells. Since I got this bloomin breadmaker, I can see another 4 stone coming back on...lol!
I'll keep you posted!

Sorry for delay! The recipe I made up from what I had in the cupboard was:
GINGER LEMON CURD CAKE
4oz butter
2 medium eggs
2oz light brown sugar
10oz SR flour
1"ish of grated fresh ginger
zest from 1/2 lemon
7tbsp ginger lemon curd (lemon curd'd work fine, too)
3 tbsp milk
Cream together butter and sugar, then beat eggs in gradually.
Fold in sieved flour, add ginger and orange zest, lemon curd and milk and mix well.
Remove kneading blade from breadpan and line with baking parchment (I used greaseproof paper and it was fine).
Select bake only program - original recipe suggested 35mins, then check and put on another 5 mins if needed.
I put on another 10 mins as it was still gooey in middle, and cake was a bit dry and a little burst around edges, forgot that it carries on cooking while standing/cooling.
It is really nice, unless mum and dh are being polite...I like it, but it would be proper yum with custard! Esp nice with the fresh ginger in it, gives it a real kick!
Do you think it IS the cooking time or not enough liquid which makes it go a little dry?
Anyway, the original recipe says marmalade instead of lemon curd and ground ginger instead of fresh, in case you prefer that.
What a nightmare making cakes and having to EAT them!!
