I realise this may have limited appeal but if you're looking for a loud hifi with ipod connectivity then you could do a lot worse than this mini system from Argos, reduced to £129.99 from £199.99.

It comes with 2 speakers and a separate subwoofer which you can turn on/off independently of the speakers. Hi fi purists may well sneer but the quality of sound it produces is amazing for the money and the system goes far louder than you'd ever need. Perfect for parties or annoying your neighbours!
